Note: visits are subject to a prior approval process that takes the industrial unit’s operational status into account, and are therefore not guaranteed.

Bruxelles-Energie plays a key role in waste management. A visit to Bruxelles-Energie also provides an opportunity to answer the following questions:

Conditions of visiting

Bruxelles-Energie is an industrial site in continuous operation. The entry conditions are as follows:

  • minimum age: 14 years
  • maximum number of visitors: 20
  • groups of more than 15 visitors must have two accompanying persons who are in charge of the group. The group will then be split in two.
  • accompanying persons are responsible for their group.
  • the site is not equipped for people with reduced mobility

The visit is free of charge and lasts around two hours. It consists of:

  • an on-screen presentation
  • a guided tour of the plant
  • a debriefing session with questions and answers

Safety instructions

Bruxelles-Energie is an industrial site. Before signing up for a visit, please read the following safety instructions.    

Thank you for your understanding.    
 

Wear flat-soled, closed-toe shoes (with non-slip soles)

The tour route includes duckboards that you cannot walk on in high heels.
As some sections may be slippery, it is preferable to wear shoes with non-slip soles.

  

Wearing a safety helmet

Wearing a safety helmet is mandatory during the tour.    
There is a slight but real risk of falling objects.    
The helmet size can be altered by adjusting the length of the internal strap.

 

Wearing safety goggles

Wearing safety goggles is mandatory throughout the tour.    
Areas where there is a risk of eye injury are marked.

 

Wearing a fluorescent vest

The tour passes through areas where transport vehicles circulate; wearing a fluorescent vest marked ‘visitor’ is mandatory.

 

If there is a fire or other incident

Always follow the guide’s instructions. The assembly point is located under the truck access ramp.    
The evacuation signal is a continuous alarm.

 

Hot zones

You will be touring a site which is under continuous operation. As some surfaces may be hot, touching the equipment is prohibited.

 

No photography

Photographing or filming the installations, people, etc. is prohibited.

 

Holding the handrail

The handrail must be held when going up or down the stairs.

 

No smoking

Smoking is prohibited throughout the plant.

 

Other points

You may not leave the group. Follow your guide’s instructions at all times.    
This site is unsuitable for people with reduced mobility or pregnant women.
