Bruxelles-Energie, a sorting centre subsidiary, produces energy from non-recyclable household waste. Since 1984, we have been converting this waste into electricity and heat, contributing to the energy supply of 65,000 households and operating Brussels’ largest district heating system. As a key player in resource circularity and recovery and processing on behalf of the citizens of Brussels, we are constantly innovating to reduce our environmental impact, optimise our production processes and ensure the efficiency of our operations.
To reinforce our teams and support the industrial development of the energy recovery unit, we are looking for a new colleague:
Production technician (M/F/X)
Location Brussels (1000)
Schedule: Shift work (3 breaks + weekends)
What will your responsibilities be?
- Monitoring and managing the boiler installations, demineralised water production, flue gas and water treatment, evaporation crystallisation and related systems.
- Working in the plant and also in the control room via electronic controls.
- Providing support to the shift supervisor and standing in for him/her/them for routine tasks as required.
- Carrying out inspection rounds to detect potential breakdowns and reporting on this to the shift supervisor.
- Maintaining the plant during your rounds on your own initiative and carrying out minor cleaning work as required or informing the operations team of more significant needs.
Desired profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in electricity or electromechanics, or equivalent experience.
- Initial experience in the industrial sector.
- Familiarity with a continuous operation environment and the workings of steam appliances is an asset.
- Team player.
- Ability to work in a continuous operation environment and in shifts.
- Ability to express yourself (orally and in writing) in French (C2). A knowledge of Dutch and/or English is an advantage.
